Dubai, UAE – Gulf Contracting & Landscaping (GCL), a company under Al Khayyat Investments (AKI), has unveiled one of the UAE’s largest plant nurseries at an expansive 1.25 million square feet site in Al Rahba, Abu Dhabi. The newly expanded facility is part of GCL’s mission to provide sustainable plant solutions to the UAE and GCC region, focusing on responsible production and the propagation of climate-adapted plant life.

The Al Rahba nursery is designed to support local ecosystems, housing over 1 million plants across 300 species of trees, shrubs, and ground covers. These plants are destined for public parks, residential communities, and private spaces, each grown using advanced agricultural technology that aligns with significant initiatives, including the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033 and Abu Dhabi’s 2030 Urban Structure Framework Plan. Through these efforts, GCL actively contributes to the UAE’s ambitious goals to enhance green infrastructure, improve urban spaces, and enrich residents’ quality of life.

Since its inception in 2007, GCL has strategically expanded its operations by acquiring additional nurseries across the UAE, developing its sites, and growing its range of plant varieties. With new sites being prepared across the region, GCL is also working on a new 1.5 million-square-foot facility, scheduled for completion in 2025, to support the UAE’s increasing demand for green landscapes.
