Hilton Expands Partnership with Fresh On Table to Boost Local Sourcing in the UAE
Dubai, UAE: At Gulfood 2023, Hilton announced an expanded partnership with UAE-based agri-tech platform Fresh On Table, aiming to double the volume of locally sourced produce for its UAE properties. This initiative aligns with Hilton’s “Travel with Purpose” commitment, focusing on responsible sourcing and supporting regional agriculture.
Strengthening Local Food Procurement
The renewed partnership follows a successful year in which Hilton and Fresh On Table exceeded their initial sourcing targets. In 2022, Hilton sourced 440 tonnes of local produce for its UAE properties. With the new agreement, that volume is set to increase to over 900 tonnes, showcasing Hilton’s dedication to sustainable sourcing and fostering connections with local farms.

Expanding Product Offerings and Impact
This enhanced commitment includes the addition of 45 new locally grown items, including herbs and leafy greens, with an expected annual volume of 50 tonnes. Emma Banks, Hilton’s VP of F&B Strategy & Development for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, emphasized how this move reinforces Hilton’s role in championing sustainability in hospitality. “We hope our expanded local sourcing commitment inspires others in the sector to adopt similar responsible practices,” Banks said.
Supporting the UAE’s Circular Economy
Fresh On Table’s founder, Atul Chopra, highlighted the impact of this collaboration in advancing the UAE’s circular economy. By bringing production closer to consumption, the partnership contributes to a more resilient and sustainable food supply network. Hilton’s “Travel with Purpose” commitment also empowers small businesses, farmers, and artisans, ensuring responsible food procurement while enhancing guests’ experiences. This partnership stands as a model for integrating sustainable practices into hospitality across the region.
